Noon CST - Live from Bama Fever...it's the Roundtable - Hanging out at Bama Fever/Team Fever in Pelham as my friends from the JOX Roundtable originate their daily sports talk show. Obviously, there is a ton of discussion today, about National Signing Day.Today is another big signing day for the Alabama football program. Unlike the past two years, this class is not one that is necessary to put the Crimson Tide back on the national map. Instead, this is one that will fill in some holes for the defending national champions, as well as the paving the way for the 2011 squad to contend once again. This Alabama class won’t be ranked No. 1 by any of the major services, and it doesn’t have to be. But it is AMONG the best, and it will help insure that future Tide teams are, as well.
Looking ahead to tomorrow Big game tonmorrow for Alabama Basketball. The Crimson Tide really needs to bounce back from a disgusting loss at Auburn in hosting a Florida team that is equally ticked off about its loss at Tennessee.
Here are a few of the notes that I will use on the Crimson Tide Sports Network game broadcast, courtesy of the media relations departments at Florida and Alabama: ALABAMA'S LAST GAME NOTES- Alabama committed 19 turnovers versus Auburn, tying for the most of the season and most in SEC play. - 12 of those turnovers came in the second half Auburn, which entered the game averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game on 32.7 percent shooting converted on just 3 three-pointers and shot 18.8% from the arc.CURRENT GAME NOTES UA is 2nd in SEC scoring defense, while UF is 3rd (MSU 1st)UF leads the SEC in 3pt% defense, while UA is 3rd. BAMA DEFENSIVE NOTES- 7 of its last 9 opponents shot less than 40% from the field - SEC opponents have shot a combined 37.8% from the field against the Tide, the 14th lowest percentage in conference games in the nation this season- Alabama’s last three opponents are a combined 6-of-43 (.140) from 3-point arc FREE THROWS- Against Auburn, Auburn was awarded 10 more free throws than the Tide. - Every SEC opponent has now toed the line more than the Tide with the average advantage being 8.9 Att/game
