(Left to right) Chris, Anne, Parker, and Christy Stewart at Coleman Coliseum 10 p.m. CST - I'm back. Okay, I know that doesn't quite carry the same weight as when Michael Jordan released his statement several years ago. However, after a couple of weeks of illness, and a little time to myself and my family, I am indeed returning to my daily posts here on my website. I really do appreciate the E-mails and text messages from those of you who have asked where I've been and made sure I was okay. I apologize for the lack of activity, and any concern that may have caused, but frankly I needed a little break. Now I feel refreshed and ready to get back at it. I was actually supposed to be in New Orleans tonight, but turned around once I hit the big city of Toomsuba, Ms. I started feeling bad on the drive down, and didn't think it was wise to continue on to the Big Easy - especially since I wouldn't be staying for the game, anyway. Basketball has a game against Georgia Tech this Saturday at 2. I always try to be at the game site two hours before tipoff. Had I chosen to stay in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl Friday night, I would likely not have gotten off air with the post game show until 12:30, which means I would have gotten back to the hotel and in bed by 2 a.m. at the earliest. I would then have to get up at 6, and be on the road around 7, in order to get back to Tuscaloosa comfortably by Noon Saturday. This way, I can do the shows from Baumhower's Wings Restaurant in Tuscaloosa, then get a good night's rest before the Crimson Tide and the Ramblin' Wreck meet. By the way, it will be a good day to come to Coleman Coliseum. Not only do I think it will be a good game, but it's also "Dollar Dog Day". You can buy a Bryan hot dog for only $1 at the concession stands. Tomorrow I'll be blogging throughout the day, as I park myself in front of the television and watch the different bowl games. Feel free to share your thoughts with me, as well, by sending E-mails to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . I'll also share some thoughts about the Andre Smith situation, the status of Bama Basketball, and other happenings around the SEC. Hope you have a safe and Happy New Year, and I look forward to visiting again tomorrow morning. Good night! |
